Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mousavi
Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mousavi was the beloved son of esteemed Grand Ayatollah Aga Syed Mehdi Mosavi and became successor of his father after his death. Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mosavi learned disciplines of knowledge in Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) until age of 14 and after that under the great guardianship of his father attained spirituality and learned different disciplines of Knowledge.
Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mosavi was a paragon of devotion, philanthropic nature and possessed other great qualities. Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mosavi had established a religious organization “Hami Al Islam” which used to give free religious education to children in different Mohallas. Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mosavi used to greatly help the poor and downtrodden and was highly philanthropic in nature. He also used to looked after those families which faced economic hardships.
Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mosavi set his abode at Budgam and in year 1315 Hijri established an Imambara there. In this Imambara Hussani (AS) Majalis and other religious gatherings are held every Year. Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mosavi also authored and popularized a two volume famous book titled “Minhajal- Salah Miraj AL Falah” dealing on diverse aspects of religion of Islam. In 1343, when the health of Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mosavi began to deteriorate and he felt need to further widen the Imambara Budgam and strengthen it ,the work of which was accordingly handed to his ambassador Hujatul Islam Al Haji Aga Syed Ahmad Mosavi.
Ayatollah Aga Syed Mohamad Mosavi left this world on 28 Shawal 1350 Hijri and is buried in the shrine of his father at Budgam Kashmir.
